Greetings to everyone in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Yeshua God! The Lord has dropped this in my heart and I want to share it with you. Let us first examine ourselves to see how we are really living. Are we really living according to God's word? Most people aren't. Why? Many people don't have a real and true relationship with Christ.
This blog is about the Laodicea church. I will explain what this church is. The Laodicea church is taken from the book of Revelation in the third chapter. It is not a church building but it is a group of believers located in the city of Laodicea on the river Lycus, right in the province of Asia. This group of people are those who are luke warm in their walk with Christ.
Revelation 3:14-22
14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
The city of Laodicea was a thriving community with mass production of goods, manufacturing and banking jobs. They had much going for themselves, at least from a material standpoint. They felt that God was not needed because they had riches and more riches. What did they need God for anyway? The problem was that they were spiritually dead! They got away from holy living. Money was their god. They were lukewarm. Is this any of you? We go to church to worship God, call upon him when we are in trouble and in need of money, to have him bless us and when the money rolls in we just forget about God! Do you think the Hollywood big shots are thinking about God? Do you think that they feel they need him? When you have a lot of money and I'm just being honest that it is that much harder to think that you need God. The fact of the matter is, that without him we are spiritually dead. Many of us need to come back to God and let him renew our minds. We need to be purged. We need to be cleansed! We can't be lukewarm because God said he will spit us out of his mouth!
Many of us feel that by attending church every Sunday and placing the same dollar amount in the offering tray that we are pleasing God. We act like we don't want to lift our hands up in prayer and speak to God. We place our hands and arms up half staff during praise and worship thinking about what we are going to do when we get home or think about what we did the day before. Now during that whole time we did not even think about God! Many of us are just playing the part of being a Christian. How would you like it if you had a main event where you were being honored at, and all of the people that showed up to honor your great work that you displayed didn't pay you any attention or just gave you half of their attention? You wouldn't like would you? NO! So why do it to God? He wants all of us not just part of us. If we are half praising and honoring God and not living all the way according to his word then that makes us lukewarm! We are allowing Satan to hold us hostage under his stronghold. It's only a stronghold when we give Satan the power over us. It's sad that many of us are allowing money and other things to distract us from our walk with Christ. Even more sad is that more Christians really think that they are living with a fire under them for Christ when they're not. You have to have a real true love and desire to want to know and serve Christ. We can't keep living lukewarm! We have to stop with wanting the world to know what we are doing for Christ when in all actuality we are doing it for our own self glory! This is not to pick on people in this world but it is to try and get people to think. Are you really spending time with Christ? Are you really watching the way you're living? God is not going to take anyone to the kingdom that is half living for him. We need God no matter who you are. We are dying a spiritual death here and it is time for us to wake up and smell the Glory of God and repent! Seeing how God knows and sees your heart are you really, really, truly living, seeking out a real relationship with the Father? Many people think that they have a real relationship with Christ but don't. You have more of real relationship with your spouse, friend, or relative than Christ. Please re-evaluate your walk with Christ because the time of Christ is at hand. Are you lukewarm in your walk with the Yeshua God?
